Barça Femení secured their fourth victory in the domestic league after defeating Alavés 6-0 at Mendizorrotza stadium in Vitoria, in a match that Pere Romeu's side controlled from start to finish. On paper, the game was expected to be closely contested, as the Basque club had been the best defensive team in the league, conceding the fewest goals up to that point
Unstoppable start
Barça came out fully focused as always and immediately looked to impose their rhythm on the game. However, they faced a very well organised, compact, and determined Alavés side. The home team held firm until Barça's individual quality finally broke the deadlock.
In the 19th minute, Patri produced a magnificent pass, and Carolina Graham Hansen, after beating Sofía in a one-on-one situation, calmly finished with a low, angled shot to open the scoring.
Pere Romeu's side did not let up and continued pushing for a second goal. Just ten minutes later, the second arrived. Following a corner, Sydney received a pass inside the box and wasted no time, unleashing a powerful and precise strike that left the Alavés goalkeeper with no chance.
Barça remained in control and continued to create opportunities against a Basque side that struggled to contain the visitors' attacking threat.
Just before half-time, the third goal arrived. Carolina Ferrer unleashed a spectacular long-range effort that flew into the top corner, giving Barça a commanding lead going into the break.
Hat-trick from Pina
With the match already under control, Barça continued to push for more goals. Kika Nazareth came close to scoring the fourth when her effort struck the post. Barça's high press during Alavés' build-up paid off: Pajor won back possession and quickly linked up with Clàudia Pina, who was positioned near the penalty spot and finished calmly.
Pina added her second and Barça's fifth when she spotted the goalkeeper off her line and, from almost the halfway line, attempted a perfect lob that sailed into the back of the net.
Then, in stoppage time, Pina was the one to put the finishing touch on the match. Coming off the bench, the Barça number 9 completed her hat-trick and sealed the 6-0 rout, securing Barça's fourth victory in the domestic competition.
