Barça 4-4 Palma Futsal: Comeback to remain top of the table

The blaugranes come from behind to claim a draw and maintain first place in the league

The Barça futsal side had to overcome all the obstacles in their way to claim a point against second placed Palma in the Palau Blaugrana. Jesús Velasco's team came back from 4-2 down to secure a draw and keep top spot in the league.

The Palau salutes the cup winners

More than 3,600 fans turned up at the Palau Blaugrana to salute the Copa del Rey winners with Barça having take the trophy the previous weekend in Antequera. Saturday's league game against Palma was a replay of last weekend's cup semi final which ended in a 5-1 win for the blaugranes.

The signs early on were that it would not be such a comfortable contest for Barça. Marlon put the visitors ahead after just 6 minutes and it was not until two minute before half time that Matheus was able to level things up with a great solo effort.

Setbacks then comeback

The game was turned on its head when Palma's Brazilian Cléber scored twice in two minutes to make it 3-1 to the visitors with 24 minutes played.

Catela almost immediately pulled on back for the blaugranes but Palma restored their two goal lead on 26 minutes. Jesús Velasco's team did not let their heads drop and Coelho pulled them to within a goal after good work from Dyego.

Pito saves the day

Time started to tick away for the blaugranes but with just two minutes left Pito scored the equaliser to grab a point. The 4-4 draw means Barça stay top, just a point ahead of their Mallorca rivals who have a game in hand.
