As many as 13 FC Barcelona players are still involved in the European Championship, hoping to steer their national teams to glory before putting on the Barça colours again for the 2025/26 pre-season. So grab pen and paper and jot down the fixtures with Barça representation.
Norway v Italy for starters
The quarter-finals open with a heavyweight encounter as Caroline Graham Hansen’s Norway face Italy. The Scandinavians topped Group A with a perfect nine points, while Italy qualified as Group B runners-up on four points after losing to Spain.
The tie kicks off on Wednesday 16 July, 9pm CEST at Stade de Genève, and will be a stern test for Norway if they are to progress. Barça’s No. 10 has already scored once in the tournament.

All-Barça clash
Two days later, Friday 18 July, at 9pm CEST in Bern, the last quarter-final brings together Spain (featuring 11 Barça players) and hosts Switzerland, led by Barca’s own Schertenleib.
Spain sailed through the group stage with maximum points and now enter the knock-outs with Alexia Putellas, the tournament’s second-top scorer (3 goals) and Barça’s all-time leading Euro scorer (4 goals) joined by Cata Coll, Ona Batlle, Jana Fernández, Irene Paredes, Laia Aleixandri, Aitana Bonmatí, Patri Guijarro, Vicky López, Salma Paralluelo and Clàudia Pina.
Switzerland, meanwhile, recovered from a 2-1 opening defeat to Norway by beating Iceland 2-0 (Schertenleib providing an assist) and drew 1-1 with Finland thanks to a late equaliser.
