Improved performance, claims Pedro

The Canary Islander believes that pressure and teamwork form a fundamental part of Luis Enrique's approach

The Canary Islander was especially active against Napoli tonight and had a couple of chances to get on the score-sheet. But despite the defeat, he felt it was a better performance than the one against Nice. “We felt good and had our chances to win” he said. “But we weren’t accurate enough up front”.

In Pedro’s opinion, “positioning, pressure and helping your team-mates” are the three elements that Luis Enrique seems keenest to work on. “We’ll keep working on these things as the season goes on. And I’m sure the results will come too”.

He described goalkeeper Bravo as “correct, he had a good game … As for the goal, these things can happen to anyone. I congratulate him for a great performance tonight”.

Ivan Rakitic and Claudio Bravo also spoke to the media after the game:

Ivan Rakitic

“I’m feeling better each day. I’m more confident and I’m developing a better understanding with my team-mates. I haven’t been here long, but I want to keep getting better every day”.

“Generally it was a good game and we could have scored goals”

“We always want to win. You can see that from how we played. I think we created a lot of chances, we did well and we’re gaining confidence.”

On Bravo: “These things happen. I think he had a good game and it hasn’t changed our confidence in him”.

Claudio Bravo

“I am very proud to have finished my first game. I hope there are many more to come”

On the mistake that led to the goal: “These things happen in this position. I have to keep working, but I’m relaxed. I know what I’m worth and what I can do.”
