Record amount of points halfway through La Liga
FC Barcelona’s first half of the season was almost picture perfect. With this Sunday’s win over Málaga, Tito Vilanova’s men closed out the first half of the domestic competition with 55 out of 57 possible points, a new all-time high record in the history of the La Liga. The previous record was set in the 2010/11 season (52 points). In their first 19 matches of the season, Blaugrana have scored 64 goals and conceded 20 .

Sitting at the top of the table halfway through La Liga usually brings good news at the end of the season. Barça have won the Liga title 11 of the 18 times they reached the halfway point of the season as league leaders. The most recent titles came in the 2008/09, 2009/10 and 2010/11 seasons.
